THIS little-known iPhone feature is causing customers’ alarms to stop working – here’s how to make sure it doesn’t affect you.

The issue was highlighted on the popular forum site Reddit, where user overallxaverage posted an image showing their alarm list.

The user said: “Has anyone else had issues with their alarms failing to go off in the morning like this?

“I usually set several sequential alarms, as you can see in this picture.

“Only my alarm for 6:45am actually sounded, & I woke up to find that my earlier alarms had all remained “set” but failed to sound.”

The post was met with other iPhone owners having the same issue, but one user solved the dilemma by explaining a button the device has called Attention Aware, reports TechRadar.

According to Apple’s support site, Attention Aware is a feature that lets your device check whether you are paying attention to it and allows it to take automatic actions for ease of use.

Essentially, if your device thinks you are looking at your phone then it won’t offer any sound when the scheduled alarm goes because it assumes you’re already awake.

To turn the setting off you can either go on the Face ID and Attention menu, or in the voice control subsection of the accessibility settings in iOS 17.

Other steps users can take to keep their alarms on are switching off Standby Mode, using default alarm sounds, and avoiding multiple consecutive alarms being set.
