A WOMAN has been arrested after a six-year-old was stabbed at a home.
The horror unfolded on Thursday in Whiston in Merseyside after the youngster was knifed in the back.
He was rushed to hospital but there has been no update on his condition.
A 33-year-old woman has now been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault.
Merseyside Police have launched an investigation and are carrying out enquiries in the local area.
Detective Inspector Alan Wood said: “Enquiries are in the very early stages of the investigation to establish what has taken place.
“I would like to reassure everyone that while the exact motive remains unclear, we do not believe there is a wider threat to the community following this incident.”
