Is Discord down?

The majority of users have encountered problems with their Discord server connection, according to DownDetector reports.

While more than a third have complained about the app being down.

Just five per cent of users are currently struggling with the desktop version of the platform.

The company is aware of the outage, and has made a statement on X (formerly Twitter) saying: “We are aware of an issue currently preventing users from accessing Discord.

“Our team is looking into this!”

According to Discord’s server status, the platform issued a fix for a problem that was plaguing the messenger yesterday and during the early hours of this morning.

The server status site claims it is just a partial outage with the API.

How can I check if Discord is not working?

There are some websites that report server outages for different websites like Discord.

Users can visit the Down Detector website when they are experiencing issues to see if others are having the same problem.

The social platform X is also useful when checking for outages to see if others in your area are having trouble.

If it appears the problem may not be widespread, try checking the internet connection on your device or exiting the app before logging back in.

When have there been Discord outages before?

Last night, 6 November, over 55,000 users across the UK and the US reported an issue with the platform.

The outage struck at around 7pm GMT (2pm EST) for users on both sides of the bond.

But Discord tweeted “we’re so back” just one hour after reports of a blackout peaked.

Before that, the social media platform suffered an outage on 7 September, 2023.

During that incident, users were left with a “checking for updates” message.

More than a thousand people reported problems at the time.
