Two men have been found dead in a suspected stabbing attack in Hamburg, German police have reported.
Hamburg’s eastern Billstedt area has been locked down amid a major police operation with officers deployed to hunt two unknown suspects, according to witnesses.
Both victims – one of which is said to be an older man – were stabbed to death and found in a side street next to construction site they were working at, local media reports.
A fight allegedly broke out between colleagues which ended with the two men knifed to death. One of the victims reportedly is the father of one of the suspects.
A helicopter has been deployed as part of the police hunt for the suspects who reportedly could still be armed.
Local police was called to the stabbing shortly before 12pm local time (11am UK time), which has warned to avoid the area for now.
This comes two days after a 17-year-old was stabbed in Hamburg and died of his injuries.
A 24-year-old man was subsequently arrested in relation to the death of the teenager.
