Remote pairing issues can occur during the initial setup stage or if you have to purchase an updated one for your TV.

It’s hard to accidentally unpair a remote but it can happen, especially if you were actually trying to unpair a different device.

Amazon advises: “If your remote doesn’t pair automatically, press the Home button until “Press to start” appears on-screen.”

This can take about ten seconds to load so don’t worry if it doesn’t appear right away.

If this still doesn’t work, you may need to move closer to the TV.

You should be within 10 feet of the TV while you’re waiting for the remote to pair.

Removing the batteries from your remote for a certain period of time can also help.

About 30 seconds should do the trick, according to Amazon.

Then, put the batteries back in a press down on the Home button.

The type of batteries you use can also affect your Fire TV Stick remote.

Amazon says: “Try using a new pair of alkaline batteries.”

There’s also a troubleshooting mode on some compatible remotes that can help you find the cause of the problem.

“To check if your remote is compatible, press the Alexa or microphone button on your remote. If the LED at the top of the remote flashes, troubleshooting mode is available,” Amazon explains.
