Cops launch manhunt after horror ‘acid attack’

Police have launched a manhunt following a suspected acid attack in Clapham last night.

Fire crews and police attended the “horrific” scene which left nine injured, including two children, at 7:25pm on Wednesday.

A mum and her two children came into contact with a “corrosive substance” and were rushed to hospital.

This came after witnesses saw a man exit a white van and “slam” a child to the floor.

Bystanders who attempted to help the family also came into contact with the substance.

Cops have now deployed a helicopter to aid in the search.

Detective Superintendent Alexander Castle said: “A man was seen fleeing the scene. We are drawing on resources from across the Met to apprehend this individual and work is ongoing to determine what has led to this awful incident.”
