HOW TO SEND NEW YEAR TEXT ON IPHONE

If you’re planning to text your friends and family using an iPhone, try doing it in Apple’s iMessage.

All you need to type is “Happy New Year” and you’ll trigger a special effect on their phone – as long as they have iMessage.

Fireworks will light up the conversation once the phrase is typed.

It should appear as soon as they open the phone if you’ve typed it correctly.

There are two more ways you can liven up your New Year message.

BONUS NEW YEAR TRICKS

There are some other hacks to easily spice up your Happy New Year text.

The first is to open up your Messages app and then type out a message to your loved one.

Then instead of tapping Send, hold down on the button instead.

Tap the Screen icon at the top of the display, and then use your finger to swipe from right to left.

This lets you cycle through effects that can go along with your message.

For instance, the fireworks effect might work great for a New Year message.

A second option is the emoji crash.

If you go into your chat, tap out some celebratory emoji.

Then hold down on the Send button and tap Screen at the top.

Make sure you’re swiped onto the very left-most effect, which should be a full-screen emoji flood.

This will splash your emoji across the screen of the recipient when they open the text.

MORE TEXT EFFECTS

Also, note that Happy New Year isn’t the only special message that activates an effect on iMessage.

You can also try:

  • Happy Chinese New Year
  • Happy Birthday
  • Pew Pew
  • Congratulations
  • Congrats

Impress your friends and family all year round.
