Steam down updates — Thousands of gamers unable to access platform due to server outage

Unofficial Steam status page gets extra visitors

Though the unofficial Steam status page hasn’t recognized the platform’s outage, the site has reported an unusual amount of visitors to the page.

“There have been an increased amount of page views on this site in the past hour, this could indicate an issue with Steam,” a message on the website says.

It is often used to purchase, download or build games.

Steam also allows users to connect and chat with each other via their platform.

The app is supported by Windows, OS X and Linux.
