A popular app that lets users book restaurants will now be shutting down within Australia.

TheFork has been operating Down Under for the past 15 years but the company announced on Monday its Australian services are now set to close on March 31.

‘We understand that this decision may come as a surprise, and we want to assure you that this was not a choice made lightly,’ the company told customers.

‘Due to the significant impact the pandemic had on the global economy, particularly the hospitality industry, we therefore had to implement certain cost measures, which includes a reduction of TheFork’s geographical footprint.’
