Twitter down: X website owned by Elon Musk suffers outages as thousands of users report problems

SOCIAL media platform X is down as thousands of users report a major outage.

Users on X, formerly known as Twitter, are unable to view any posts on the site with a message that says: “Welcome to X!”

Users also faced loading issues on X Pro, formerly TweetDeck, with a message that said: “Waiting for posts.”

Over 47,000 US users faced access issues with X and X Pro, according to Downdetector data.

Another 7,000 have reported problems in the UK.

The global outage appeared to start shortly after 5am UK time.

It’s not clear what caused the issue.
