Below are three Christmas events that brought snow to shocked residents of three warm US states.

SOUTH TEXAS CHRISTMAS 2004

A snowstorm in South Texas shocked meteorologists in 2004.

One expert from The Weather Channel said a satellite image of the “South Texas Christmas snowpack remains the most bizarre weather image of my meteorological career.”

The event was considered the most snow seen in Deep South Texas since 1895.

It was the first time a lot of Texas residents had even seen snow.

South Texas has received a few wintry snowstorms since, including in 2014 and 2017.

But the worst snowstorm to hit Texas didn’t happen during Christmas.

A deadly storm in February 2021 became the single-costliest natural disaster in Texas history.

OKLAHOMA CHRISTMAS EVE BLIZZARD 2009

Both Texas and Oklahoma faced a blizzard on Christmas Eve in 2009.

The event was bizarre and was said to shatter records for both areas.

Far from a winter wonderland, state residents had to cope with wind speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.

Over 13 inches of snow was said to fall at OKC airport.

Traveling during this time, even if it just involved driving, became extremely difficult.

FLORIDA CHRISTMAS 1989

Florida isn’t a state known for its snow but residents experienced a white Christmas there in 1989.

The magical event happened on December 23 and 24 of that year.

According to The Register-Herald, around 20 inches of snow dropped on the beaches and palm trees of the state known for sunshine.
