Here is everything you need to know about the pair.

What is the OnePlus 12 phone and what is OnePlus?

For those unfamiliar with the OnePlus brand, it is one of the leading Android smartphones to rival Samsung.

It’s a Chinese-based firm which has been going for ten years as of December 13 – so the OnePlus 12 comes at a special anniversary moment too.

OnePlus is actually owned by another big smartphone maker you may have heard of, Oppo.

The OnePlus 12 serves as the company’s flagship handset, succeeding last year’s OnePlus 11.

When is the OnePlus 12 release date for the UK?

The OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R have already been launched in the company’s home territory China.

Pre-orders for both handsets are now open in the UK and the US.

The OnePlus 12 will be available on both sides of the pond on February 6.

The budget-friendly OnePlus 12R will follow a week later on February 13.

How to get your hands on a OnePlus 12 Phone

OnePlus handsets are usually stocked in most smartphone retailers.

However, you can buy it directly from OnePlus.com and there are some early introductory offers such as free headphones for the first 1,000 purchases.

What is the price of a OnePlus 12 phone?

The cost of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R depend on the storage size you opt for.

So, for the main OnePlus 12 you have:

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB – £849 / $799.99
  • 16GB RAM + 512GB – £999 / $899.99

The cheaper OnePlus 12R also has two options, though in the UK and Europe you can only get the 256GB model.

  • 8GB + 128GB – $499.99 (Not available in the UK and Europe)
  • 16GB + 256GB – £649 / $599.99

What do we know from the OnePlus 12 leaks?

The OnePlus 12 features a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display with a “record-breaking” peak brightness.

It comes with a 4th-Gen Hasselblad Camera with the 3X Periscope Telephoto Camera.

And for those who hate waiting around to charge your battery, it looks like the device will power up very fast too wirelessly.

OnePlus has revealed that the 12’s battery will be 5,400mAh which is bigger than any of Samsung’s phones and iPhone’s.

The 12R’s battery is slightly bigger despite being the budget version, at 5,500mAh.

The OnePlus 12 is available in an emerald green and white, while the 12R is in Iron Gray and Cool Blue.

We also know that both handsets will have a so-called Aqua Display so you can finally use the touchscreen even when it’s been raining – see it in action by watching the video above.

Is the OnePlus 12R worth it? Early verdict by Jamie Harris, Senior Tech & Science Reporter at The Sun

There are so many smartphones out there that it’s increasingly hard to choose.

One thing’s for sure – people don’t want to pay through the roof. So it’s a good thing OnePlus has decided to make its mid-range OnePlus 12R available in every country for the first time.

That said, it’s nowhere near as cheap as the last OnePlus 11R which was only released in India for 39,999 Rupees (the equivalent of about £380). This year’s OnePlus 12R is £649.

The massive battery and camera improvements are welcome but there are loads of budget-friendly rivals such as Honor and Xiaomi in the Android market.
